My work has won awards from the International Art Doll Registry (IADR) and a Gold Award from Professional Doll Makers Art Guild. My dolls have been featured in the E magazine "A For Artistic" as well as the quarterly magazine put out by the Professional Doll Makers Art Guild, "International Doll Artists."
Like many others I've worn different hats through my life and raised a family too, but always I enjoyed different forms of art as a sort of meditative release. Later in life I discovered a newfound joy in sculpting figurative art from polymer clay: animals, art dolls, dollhouse figures, and more. My heart and soul goes into each piece which is carefully hand sculpted over a hand-made armature, cured, and lovingly brought to life using Genesis heat set oils, bits of fabric, fine mohair, hand-made or hand painted eyes, hand-made wings, fins, etc. And each one is registered with the International Art Doll Registry. Whenever I sell a doll I provide a Certificate of Authenticity from the Registry showing its number, a thumbnail photo of the creation, and signed by me. I sell them in my Etsy Shop named Leann Marshall Studio, the link below.
Embracing the mantra of OOAK--"one of a kind," has kept all my creations varied and held my interest with its many challenges. I've been sculpting since around 2012, and my Etsy shop has been open for many years. I try to keep it filled with a variety of dolls.
I also have a Facebook artist page and belong to a couple of very wonderful and active doll artist organizations, making many new friends along the way.
